The Victorious Christian Pt 2

Philippians 3:12-21

First, “F_______ those things which are behind”

"this race is not just a sprint, not a quick, brisk burst of energy, and then done with.  In that case, many more would have succeeded"

It is a l_______ d_________ that we must "run with patience" (Heb 12:1)

Paul’s goal?

“…I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of m_____” 3:12

“For me to live is C________, to die is gain” 1:21

“I want to know C_________ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings becoming l______ Him in His death.”  3:11

“This one thing I do…..”

“The “One thing” is not the o_____ t__________ that a Christian will do, but rather it is the goal toward which everything that he does will g_____________.”

All things must contribute to c____________ us to the image of Him whose we are and whom we serve.

…one of the reasons that Paul was such a victorious Christian... He had only one p________!!!!

“The load of tomorrow added to that of yesterday, and carried today, makes the strongest to falter”.    Sir William Osler

"Join with others and follow my e_________…” vs17

We need to be able to tell the guy or the gal that we work next to -- follow the way that I live and you will please God!!!“

The idea here is to be a joint imitator.....

The worst enemy is not one who denies the Christ and the Cross, but the one who says that Christ and the cross is not enough!

Our citizenship is in heaven –

  • This means that we live for the g_______ of heaven not the earthly.
  • he lives by heavens l_____....

we are a colony of Heaven living here on earth..... and we are governed by heavens rules and our responsibility is to obey them.

A change in this vile body ... no more p________, no more sickness or disease ... no more weakness or failure.

It will be changed into the likeness of His glorious b______ ... ever more to be victorious...

There will be nothing in us that will respond to s_____!

In the midst of… and in spite of …Any and all conditions

“Beware” or “watch out” comes from the Greek verb meaning “to see” and carries the idea of a warning to “Look out” with a view to avoiding!

So just what are they to be avoiding?

“E_____ W_____________”

We can evaluate everything we do with one simple question….  “_____________________________________________?”
