God often humbles us with momentary grief so that He might exalt us with eternal gladness.  The appropriate response is gratefulness for the grief and the gladness.

Paul reached Rome.  The Holy Spirit is mentioned one final time and we are encouraged to keep on keeping on.

The sea is almost always a symbol/place of evil and chaos in scripture.  Here the last of several sea journeys, which always in Acts signify the movement of the Gospel and reach "the ends of the earth."  The supernatural characteristic of God's watchful care as his representatives go forth with the good news.
